Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London, the United Kingdom. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017 after she had signed with Warner Bros Records. The album peaked at No. three on the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles released including Be the First I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. The album, which has now been recognized as Platinum in several countries around the world was awarded the two Brit Awards (in 2018) for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Artist. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. It is also possible to locate her ancestral ancestors from the Kosovo town of Peja. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Her siblings are Rina as well as Gjin. Lipa's musical influences came from her father, who is the lead singer and guitarist of the Kosovan the rock group Oda.
